FIVE SISTERS
Video by Logan Smith | Edited by Kyle Pierce
Throughout this piece, every dancer repeats the same steps at different times. This canon structure symbolizes the grieving process of four people who, despite experiencing the same loss, must process it at their own pace. I originally created this piece in 2015, just over a year after losing one of my four sisters to suicide. That loss changed our lives, and our relationships with each other, forever. The passage of time does not make grief easier to endure, but I have found some hope and healing through dance. I present this piece for the second time in honor and loving memory of my late sister Alice Wiley.
